All features for editing or creating new documents are disabled and you will receive a message stating that the product has been de-activated. If you don’t connect within 30 days, Office 365 goes into "reduced functionality mode", i.e., Office 365 applications remain installed but you can only view and print documents. Connecting to the internet allows Microsoft to check your entitlement. To maintain access to Office 365 you must connect to the internet at least once every 30 days. You do not have to be connected to the internet all the time to use Office 365.
